Overview of Superteam Vietnam 2024

• 1. Events Maxis: We organized 231 events across Vietnam, attracting ~ 12,000 attendees. With over 5 events per week across key cities—Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang—this has established Solana and Superteam as the most vibrant and talked-about web3 community in Vietnam.
• 2. Earnings: Total earnings soared by 265% from 2023 to 2024, reaching $447,893.25 from 92 unique members. This growth spans multiple areas, including job placements, hackathon wins, instagrants, and bounties, showcasing well-rounded success across all earning opportunities.
• 3. Highly Competitive Hackathon Community: Superteam Vietnam’s developers earned $135,677.45 in global hackathons this year, ranking 3rd in shortlisted teams and mentioned winners at Renaissance. With 300+ active projects, they consistently excel in other Hackathons like The Talent Olympics, Speedrun, Bonkathon and more.
• 4. University Program: In partnership with FPT University and top technical schools, Superteam’s "Build on Solana" course trained 700 students across 5 classes, with students earning university credits by launching projects on Solana mainnet. A post-course Job Fair secured internships and job offers for over 20 participants.
• 5. Accelerating strong teams: Superteam Vietnam teams have raised over $1.15 million in angel funding this year and joined top accelerator programs like SpringX, showcasing their growth and innovation.
• 6. Enterprise and Government: This year, we worked closely with regulators, enterprise companies, and dev shops, engaging through speaking engagements and co-hosted events. With Vietnam’s launch of its "National Blockchain Strategy" aiming to lead the region by 2030, we’re focusing our 2025 efforts on actively contributing to these conversations. Plans include organizing a blockchain conference and establishing a co-working space in partnership with the Da Nang government. Other highlights of the year include speaking at the Dragon Capital conference and other high-profile industry events.
• 7. Hosting Regional Conferences: Helped co-host several international conferences such as Solana Summit - APAC, SEABC and Solana Consumer Day bringing together ecosystem partners, investors, builders, and government officials from around the world. Solana Summit - APAC was a standout success, attracting over 1,000 attendees in Malaysia and kickstarting Superteam MY. The event raised $315,000, with over 75% funded by ecosystem partners.
• 8. Focus on Gaming: Vietnam, a global gaming leader with ~4.2 billion app downloads in 2023 (DataAI & AppMagic) and 100,000+ game developers, has produced hits like Flappy Bird (web2) and Axie Infinity (web3). Partnering with Vietnamese and Japanese studios, as well as Gameshift, Sonic and others, we’re hosting a series of game jams to drive the next wave of web3 games on Solana. 6 weeks Gam Jam alongside a 2 month accelerator program.
• 9. Positioning Vietnam as a Hub for Global Engineering Talent: We're connecting Vietnam's skilled and engineers with project partnership opportunities in countries like Singapore, Japan, and Brazil. During Radar, we helped place Vietnamese engineers in over 5 projects. Since then, we’ve had a series of new projects and we believe this will be a model for even more projects in the next global hackathon.
• 10. Ecosystem Support: Superteam Vietnam has been helping in expanding the reach of Solana ecosystem companies as well as CEX by connecting them with engineering talent, hosting workshops, and supporting go-to-market (GTM) strategies, driving growth and adoption.

Areas for Growth 2025

The goal is to continue in the areas that had the most impact in 2024 and then look to new areas of growth, distribution and expansion for 2025.

• 1. Increase distribution: through more cities and local leaders (captains). The goal is to establish core members at 7-10 Universities, 3-5 more cities and create subject matter guilds. We’ve built a strong core of builders and a well known reputation. Now its time to expand to secondary cities to unlock hidden talent and broaden participation.
• 2. Increase Job Placements for Superteam Members: As we move into 2025, the demand for skilled Solana developers is growing, with 18 open roles currently waiting to be filled by Superteam Vietnam alone. To meet this demand, we plan to collaborate with more headhunters and expand our talent network.
• 3. Collaborating with Other Superteams for Developer Placements: Superteam Vietnam connects skilled developers with Superteam projects, successfully placing engineers in over five teams during Radar. Looking ahead, we aim to strengthen partnerships with Superteams in Singapore, Japan, and South Korea, embedding talent earlier for future hackathons and beyond. This initiative supports long-term placements, scales projects across the ecosystem, and reinforces Vietnam's position as a global hub for blockchain talent.
• 4. Policy Advocacy and Government Engagement: With Vietnam's "National Blockchain Strategy" underway, we’ll actively engage with government bodies to shape favorable policies and regulations. Hieu Bui, returning with a Master's in Blockchain Public Policy, alongside leaders like Anh Tran and Minh Thach, will position Superteam Vietnam as key contributors to the strategy's development and implementation.
• 5. Enterprise Focus: Additionally, the "National Blockchain Strategy" is driving interest in web3 adoption as more companies are exploring blockchain integration. We plan to expand institutional outreach, offering workshops on stablecoins, asset tokenization, and token extensions.
